ice age poem

An ice age is a time

That is really divine

But how can we know

Through all of this snow?

I think I can see

The snow falling on me

But it's falling so thick

Last week it buried Mick

Our crops have all died off

Because of the 40-foot heaps

And you never know

If it's here for keeps.

One person is screaming

"Its the end of the world!"

But how can we hear him,

The snow's such a whirl

Last week it did halt

That’s when we got out the salt

And the children did play

In what looked like big white heaps of hay

But then it started up again

On one cold summer day

The snow was calling out to me

I wanted to go out and play

So I wandered out side

And that's when I knew

This wasn’t just something

Just something that blew

For there was a glacier

All pretty and nice

But that’s when I knew

When I saw that chunk of ice

It was huge and white

Sparkling prettily and white

Through the glare of the snow

Cause that’s when I did know.

An ice age had come

We were all going to die

Or do I sound too much

Like that one little guy

That’s when I decided

To meat the best of the end

So I went skiing

On the glacier's west end

As soon as I got home

I turned on the TV

And it did say that

The glacier had been named Stevie

It also informed me

That were all gonna die

And I was sitting there

Thinking "he sounds like that guy"

So we all just sat there

For the next couple years

Saying "will this never end?"

Through our many, frozen tears.

So then I got it in me

To try to open up

My shop was freezing

But it had to work

So I dug a tunnel

Soon they were big enough for cars

It was an underground society

Protected from the stars

So I spent my life there

In those big tunnels, yes

And when I thought it would end soon

Well, that was just a stupid guess

So then we survived it

And after 600 years

I look down at the earth

And I cry frozen tears
